Plumbed-in
water coolers offer chilled water
at a fraction of the cost of bottled water coolers. (As a rough guide,
a 19 litre bottle costs around ?6.50, while 19 litres of water from
a point-of-use (POU) cooler costs just 1.33p!). There are numerous other
advantages of plumbed-in coolers over bottled ones. It only makes sense
to choose a bottled water cooler if you have no mains water facilities
available (see our revolutionary satellite system for an intermediate
solution).
All
of our plumbed-in coolers can be fitted with water filters. Many users
are surprised by how good unfiltered chilled water tastes - but others
prefer a filter to be fitted to remove chlorine and fluoride etc. Whether
or not you should have a filter fitted depends on personal taste and
the quality of mains water in your area. A filter can be added after
purchase, although this may incur an additional charge. Information
on different types of water filters is available. Most of the water
coolers stocked come in a number of versions which differ in the types
of water dispensed (chilled, ambient, hot and sparkling). Traditional
water coolers require periodic (about every six months) sanitization
(a very simple internal cleaning and sterilisation process that takes
less than 15 minutes). Today, many coolers use a new direct chill process,
however, which completely eliminates the need for sanitisation. Watch
out for this in the item desciptions.
